Sailor Moon Manga-Vol 1, Act 4 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Masquerade -------------------------------------------------------- (Luna is at Central Control and she is looking at the profiles of Usagi, Ami, Rei and Mamoru. Introduction of the characters follows.) (It is morning in Tokyo and at Tsukino's residence, Usagi's Mother is reading the morning papers. Headline says: Sailor Moon solves the mystery of the six o'clock Bus Of Death.) Usagi's Mom: I know I've seen that Sailor Moon somewhere. Who can she be? (Usagi's mom flips the paper. Another headline reads: Princess D of the Kingdom of Jewels will present her most treasured jewel -Silver Crystal- tonight at the City Hall) (Suddenly, Usagi speeds by her mom) Usagi: It's eight twenty five?! I'm goona be LATE!! Mom, my lunch!! (Usagi runs to school) Usagi: Luna, run like your whiskers are going to fall off! (Usagi notices the police and guards around her neighborhood) Usagi: Wow,look at all these guards and people. I wonder what's happening. (Usagi arrives at school just as the bell rings) Naru:Hi Usagi! You made it in time. But Ms. Haruna isn't here yet. Usagi: Naru- chan, why are there so many guards? What's happening? Naru: Don't you know? Princess D, the owner of the greatest jewel collection in the world is coming to Tokyo! There will be a banquet held in her honor tonight at the City Hall. Usagi: Princess? And the City Hall is right next to our town! Naru: Princess D is also going to reveal here family jewel tonight. I'll bet it's the most gorgeous jewel in the world! (Luna reads the newpaper. Heading: "Princess D's family jewel will be revealed tonight at the banquet in City Hall." Usagi's mom see Luna reading the paper) Usagi's Mom: What a cute cat. She thinks she can read the papers. (after school at the arcade, Ami and Rei are waiting for Usagi. Usagi arrives) Ami: Hi Usagi-chan! Rei: You're late, as usual. Usagi: he he! Luna: She failed another test and had to stay after class to make it up. Usagi: I could use some help, right Ami-chan? (sidenote: Usagi introduces Ami and Rei. Ami is the kind genius girl- Sailor Mercury. Rei is the girl who shouldn't be trifled with-Sailor Mars) Rei: Hmp! How did _I_ become a female warrior? I have other things to do, you know. Anyways, Luna, what kind of a princess are we looking for? And tell us where you came from and who you are. Or else, I'm afraid I can't work with you. Luna: I cannot tell you that, not now. Or even if I did, you wouldn't believe me. Ami: But Luna, we need information. About the enemy and the ginzuishou. Luna: I really don't know about our enemy, only that they are amongst us, on Earth. Ami: But if we are warriors who defeat the enemy, then we should know something about them right? Luna: No Ami-chan. You are warriors who protect the Princess.The reason we can't find the princess is that she is sealed. Ami and Rei: Sealed?!You mean hidden? Luna: Yes, In another form. The ginzuishou is probably with her too. Rei and Ami: why? Luna: The ginzuishou is very powerful, and has unlimited source of energy. If it gets into the hands of the enemy, then this entire Universe is doomed! That is why the ginzuishou and the princess are hidden. You are still lacking in your powers as warriors. Once all the warriors have been found, and the princess and the ginzuishou have been discovered, you will know everything. That is all I an tell you. Rei: How will we know everything? Luna: You have to remember. Rei; Remember? Luna: Especially Usagi. (Luna looks at Usagi who is playing a video game on the computer) Luna: She is supposed to be our leader, but she is still irresponsible and immature. (Luna bounces on Usagi's head) Luna: Usagi, we are talking about something important! Quit playing the game! Usagi: Hold on!! Let me finish this! Motoki: Wow, why so many guards? Oh, hi, Usagi. You brought your friends again? (Motoki pats Usagi's head) Usagi: Motoki, guess what! Today, Princess D of the Kingdom of Jewels is coming. Luna(thinking): Princess D and her Silver Crystal. We should investigate this. Motoki: A princess eh? I wonder if she's a fabulous glamour-girl. Umino: He he. Guess what I got. A picture of Princess D. (Umino unfurls the picture to reveal a dorky-looking princess with spinning eyes like Umino's) Rei(sweatdrop): This is the princess?! Motoki(sweatdrop): he he...uh... Usagi: Kind of looks like Umino. Oh, I bet Princess D will be dressed in a gorgeous ball gown and there'll be so many people! I wanna go. I might get to see the Silver Crystal too. Rei: You better drop that thought. I'm getting bad vibes and it isn't good to stick your nose where it's not wanted. (in the Dark Kingdom headquarters, Nephlyte is looking into a black Crystal Ball. She sees the headline on the newspaper about Princess D's Silver Crystal. Nephlyte looks at the galss coffin near by. Inside it, is the decaying, burnt corpse of Jedeite *translator: okay Jedeite from SOS ML, you wanted it*) Nephlyte: Jedite, I shall avenge your defeat and get the ginzuishou to revive you. Queen Beryl: Yes, Nephlyte. Get the ginzuishou so that the Dark Kingdom can finally conquer the world, and you can save your fellow general Jedeite! The Dark shall conquer the world!! (however, Queen Beryl is also unsure about the ginzuishou's power) Queen Beryl(thinking): Can it really be that powerful? That stone called the ginzuishou. (In Tokyo, Usagi has returned home.) Usagi: I'm home! Usagi's Dad: Hi Usagi. (Usagi sees that her father is dressed in a balck Tuxedo with a black bow tie) Usagi: Wow Dad! Where are you going? Usagi's Dad: To Princess D's banquet of course. Usagi: Wha WHAT?!! I wanna go too!!!! Usagi's Dad: Honey, you can watch it later tonight, on the TV. (Usagi's Dad leaves) (A devil's tail comes up from Usagi's rear. Luna has a big sweatdrop on her head) Usagi: Luna, let's investigate, shall we? (she whips out her transform pen) Usagi: Disguise Power! Turn me into a gorgeous lady! (Usagi is transformed into a beautiful lady dressed in a ball gown) (Rei and Ami are also at the ball) (at the ball, everybody is wearing a mask) Usagi: Wow, it's a masquerade!! Luna: I can't tell who's who. Ami: Let's look for Princess D (Rei and Ami see Usagi. Usagi is going around with hearts in her eyes) Rei: Isn't that Usagi? Usagi: This is so cool! It's just like in those romantic movies! Usagi (thinking): Everything is so dreamy. It makes me want to dance. (Usagi's dad sees Usagi in disguise) Usagi's Dad: She looks like my daughter. Maybe my daughter will grow up to be a beautiful lady like her. (Suddenly, a woman spills her drink on Usagi's dress) Usagi: Oh, no. I need to go to the bathroom. (While looking for a bathroom, Usagi accidentally drops her handkerchief. Tuxedo Kamen pick it up. Usagi's name is printed clearly on the handkerchief.) (meanwhile, Usagi is still searching for the bathroom) Usagi(thinking):I can't find the bathroom. Luna? Ami? Where are they? (Usagi looks at the crowd and thinks of Tuxedo Kamen) Usagi(thinking): Even if I'm all dressed up, like a lady, I have nobody to dance with. (suddenly, somebody takes Usagi's hands) Tuxedo Kamen: Excuse me, may I have this dance? Usagi: Tuxedo Kamen!! (Usagi and Tuxedo Kamen start dancing) Usagi(thinking): It's just like a dream... Usagi: I was just thinking of you. TK: Me too. (Tuxedo Kamen takes Usagi hand more firmly and they continue dancing) Luna: Usagi!! Usagi: Luna!! (Usagi turns, but Tuxedo Kamen is gone) Usagi: Tuxedo Kamen!? Usagi(thinking): I felt as if I was flying... Luna: Princess D is inside. Come on! Usagi: Luna, do you feel anything? Luna; No, nothing Usagi:And the Silver Crystal. Where is it? (Princess D is seated at her throne) person#1:I can't wait until I see the Silver Crystal tonight. person#2:This is a once-in-a-life-time event! guard: Princess D, please get ready. Princess D: Okay, Okay. Translator? (Princess D motions to a woman who is her language translator (stand-in)) translator(stand-in): yes, Princess? Princess D: I am not well aquainted with this place. Please guide me. (Princess D walks away) Princess D (muttering): Ugh... everybody want to see the crystal.. the crystal...If I were a bit prettier then I wouldn't have to feel like a nobody...I feel so useless.. Translator(stand-in): Yes, you are useless dear Princess...All that's important is the Silver Crystal . (an evil spirit transports itself from the translator(stand-in)'s body into the Princess' body. Possessed with the evil spirit, the Princess runs off, leaving the discarded clothes of the translator) Guard: Princess D, we are ready for your presentation. (Princess D is clutching the box the Silver Crystal is in. She stares at the guards evilly and the guards stiffen.) Princess: I've got the ginzuishou! (she runs past the guards) Princess D: Out of my way! Guards: Princess D?! Guards: Princess D is acting strangely!! (Princess D is running out into the ball room) guards: Princess D has gone crazy!! Luna: Usagi! Princess D is going out onto the balcony with the Crystal!! (Usagi runs after the Princess and throws herself on top of the Princess) Usagi: Princess D! Come to your senses!It's dangerous here!! Princess D: Let go!! (Usagi is flung away by the Princess) Luna: Usagi! (Usagi is flung over the balcony and is about the fall) (A hand grips her arm. It is Tuxedo Kamen. Usagi is hanging precariously from the balcony, with only Tuxedo Kamen's grip keeping her from falling to the ground nearly fifty feet below) Usagi: Tuxedo Kamen! (Usagi's communicator beeps. It is Ami) Ami: Usagi?! (meanwhile, Ami and Rei are looking at the princess who has gone mad) Rei: Look at her eyes. It's the eyes of one possessed by a demon. Princess D: Open the doors you servants of the Dark Kingdom. All who opposed shall be punished by the wrath of the Dark Kingdom!!! (All the people in the ball are under a spell) (meanwhile, Tuxedo Kamen is trying to rescue Usagi. But she is slipping) Usagi: I can't! Luna: Usagi! Use your pen!! Usagi: My pen?! (Usagi's pen starts growing and soon it has transformed into an umbrella. Usagi and Tuxedo Kamen glide down from the balcony using the umbrella as a parachute. They land on the ground) TK: It is you who saved me today. Thank you. (Tuxedo Kamen runs off) Usagi: Tuxedo Kamen! Usagi(thinking): Strange... I was the one who always got help from him. Usagi: Moon Prism Power MAKE_UP!! Smoon: my tiara! Where is it?! (Usagi's tiara is missing. ) SMoon(thinking): It must have burned away with the enemy, the last time I used it. (She remembers how her tiara had trapped Jedeite and it had burned up with him) (A strange energy surrounds SM.) SMoon(thinking): I feel strange... As if I'm sinking into something... Like when I danced with Tuzedo Kamen... ( A new tiara forms on Sailor Moon's head) Usagi: A new tiara! (Sailor Moon jumps up to the balcony andto Princess D. Sailor Mercury and Mars are already there) SMercury: Sailor Moon! (Everybody is slowly being drained of their energies by the youma. Usagi recognizes her Dad) Sailor Mars:They're being sucked into that big warphole! (Nephlyte's face appears) Nephlyte: I will be the one to bring the Crystal to the great conquerer of the Dark Kingdom! SMars: Fire Soul! (Mars' attack doesn't work. Nephlyte laughs evilly) TK: Sailor Moon, the only way to defeat the dark enemy is by strong, bright light. SMoon: Tuxedo Kamen! Luna: Sailor Moon, use your new tiara to reflect the moonlight towards Princess D! Sailor Moon: How dare you possess the body of a royalty, you scumbag!! On behalf of the Moon, I will punish you!! SMoon: Moon Twilight FLASH!! (the light from the moon reflects on Sailor Moon's tiara towards the evil spirit. The spirit is destroyed) (in the Dark Kingdom) Nephlyte: It's gone. How dare you Sailor Brat destroy my shadow! (in the City Hall, everybody is waking up) Princess D: Huh? (Princess D's glass drops to the floor). The Sailor Senshis gawk at Princess D. She is beautiful without her glasses) Princess D: What? What am I doing? My glasses, I can't see without them. (She finds her glasses and puts them back on) (the Sailor Senshi try to picture Umino without his glasses. They wonder if Umino could be a hunk without his glasses) SMars:Umino? No... SMoon(sweatdrop):he he... SMercury:(sweatdrop): not likely... (the ball is back to normal) person#1: It's good thing things are back the way they are. person#2:Princess D must have been surprised. Announcer: Every body Princess D will present her Silver Crystal! (Princess D opens the box to reveal a diamond statue of herself) Princess D:It's a statue of me, made of 2000 karats of diamond! SMars(sweatdrop): It seems kind of... SMercury(sweatdrop): Not what we are looking for... SMercury: Where's Sailor Moon? SMoon: I'm so thirsty after fighting... I need juice. (Sailor Moon spots some drink on a table, and gulps one down. Unfortunately, it is liquor, not juice.) SMoon: Wow!! What a juice! (half drunk, she bumps into Tuxedo Kamen) Smoon: Oh, I'm sorry. Hiccup! (she settles in Tuxedo Kamen's embrace.) (Outside, Tuxedo Mask puts her on a seat on the balcony and looks at her. He leans over and kisses her) Usagi(sleeping and thinking):I feel so warm...as if I've been kissed like this before. Luna: Get away from Usagi, Tuxedo Kamen. Who are you? And why do you always appear when we are fighting? TK: Because, I am also looking for the ginzuishou. Luna: Are you enemy or a friend? TK: Well... if we are looking for the same thing, we may be enemies. (it is beginning to rain and thunder strikes. A girl is running and looks up into the sky.)
